Douglas Yip
Mr. Yip’s practice involves tax planning in the domestic, as well as the international, context. He has dealt with corporate reorganizations, purchase and sale of businesses, and various non-resident taxation issues. He has also prepared trust deeds and Wills for estate planning and asset protection purposes. In respect of dealings with the federal and Quebec taxation authorities, Mr. Yip has been involved in all aspects of audits, Notices of Objections, and negotiations, including voluntary disclosures.
Douglas Yip is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF), the Association de planification fiscale et financière¨(APFF), and the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). He is a frequent speaker on taxation matters to various groups, including numerous accounting firms, and is the co-author of several articles for the Canadian Tax Foundation and other publications.
Mr. Yip has been active on the South Shore, as a coach of various youth sport teams, and in the educational sector. He has previously served as elected Commissioner for the Riverside School Board, and on the Board of Directors of several associations in the Montreal Chinese Community.
