Marcie Akerman

Since joining Sweibel Novek in 2006, Ms. Akerman practices primarily in the areas of personal and corporate taxation, as well as estate planning and corporate law.  She has been involved in the purchase and sale of businesses both from a tax and corporate and commercial perspective.

Ms. Akerman received her Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in 1998, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honor List. She subsequently earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2003 and in 2005 received her Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Montreal with great distinction.

She is a member of both the Quebec and Ontario Bars and placed first on the Quebec interprovincial transfer exams.
